About Only Dry
Only Dry has served Plum since. Meet our restoration team. Locally owned.
Only Dry started with a narrow focus: water, fire, smoke, storm, and sewage losses, plus the mold and reconstruction work that often follows. Restoration is not a side service here, and it never has been. That focus shapes how the company is staffed, how jobs are scheduled, and what equipment sits in the trucks every day.
Most of the people who call Only Dry are not having a good day. A pipe let go behind a wall overnight, a basement took on water during a storm, a kitchen fire left smoke damage running through the ductwork into rooms that never saw flame. The work is answering that call, getting a tech on-site, documenting the damage for the insurance adjuster, and starting the drying or cleanup process before the damage spreads any further than it already has. Because the phones are answered 24/7, that first call doesn’t wait for a Monday or a business day that starts at nine.
What we do
Day to day, the job is less about the tools and more about triage: figuring out how far water traveled under flooring and behind drywall, how long smoke odor has had to settle into fabric and framing, whether a sewage backup has contaminated materials that need to come out versus ones that can be cleaned and dried in place. A lot of it is paperwork too, because most homeowners are filing an insurance claim for the first time and don’t know what documentation the carrier is going to want. Part of the job is handling that so the homeowner isn’t trying to learn claims processes while also dealing with a wet basement.
Our certifications and licensure
Only Dry doesn’t carry a list of industry certifications to put on a wall, and we’d rather say that plainly than pad this page with credentials that aren’t backed up. What we do commit to is following recognized industry standards on every job, drying structures per the IICRC S500 guidelines for water damage, for example, rather than guessing at when a space is actually dry. If a project calls for work governed by federal rules, like renovation on a pre-1978 home where lead-safe practices apply under EPA regulations, that gets flagged and handled appropriately rather than skipped.
Where we work
Only Dry is based in Plum, Pennsylvania, and works in Plum, Fox Chapel, Oakmont, and Murrysville. That’s a mix of housing stock, from the older homes around Oakmont and Fox Chapel with plaster walls and original plumbing, to newer construction in parts of Murrysville and Plum where the building code and materials are different. Knowing which is which matters, because a water loss behaves differently in a house built in the 1950s than in one built in the last fifteen years. We stay close to these four communities rather than spreading thin across a wider region, because knowing the area’s housing and typical problem spots is part of doing the job right.
